Hey gals! So today’s blogpost is all about fall staples: things I need to have to enjoy this season. I’m payticularly not a fall girl, and I enjoy spring and summer more but that doesn’t mean I hibernate in the fall…that’s more so in the winter. (LOL) I love the colors and tones of fall, but I don’t enjoy many fall activities especially those pertaining to Halloween. When I was younger, my mom would have to drag me out of the house on Halloween to go trick or treating with my sister and cousins and I hated it. If I’m being honest, I think it was mainly due to the fact that people dressed up in scary costumes or any costume actually. But this post isn’t about me saying how I’m more of a swimming in the pool girl instead of someone who enjoys picking pumpkins. It’s about pieces of clothes, accessories, and other miscellaneous items that I love having in the fall time.
Yes, that’s right. Anything made of corduroy whether that be a skirt, pants, hats, or overalls worn in the fall time. I just think it looks like a match made in heaven. I’ve got my fair share of corduroy items, and can’t wait to start sharing them in fall outfit posts.
Boots or booties, whatever you prefer to call them. I wear booties 80% of the fall season because it’s a little too chilly for sandals now, but it’s still warm enough to not have to wear any warm footwear. I usually only buy pairs that go past my ankle or mid calf. Otherwise, super tall boots or knee high boots make my legs look really short, and I personally hate that look.
I know this sounds so basic for fall because everyone and even my mother are always burning fall scented candles or essential oils. But I truly love the smell of fall baked goods, especially all kinds of pies during Thanksgiving. Something about fall scented items does bring a certain comfort to my mind that makes me feel so relaxed. Anyone else with me on that one? However, I make sure to never buy overwhelming scents because that does exactly the opposite of relaxing me.
Yes, Yes! I love football. Whether that’s college football (GO NITTANY LIONS) , which is the only team I cheer for. Obviously, I’m a HUGE Eagles fan, but I do watch other NFL teams often because to me, nothing screams fall like football Saturday and Sunday with a good beer.
A lot of other people I know would throw in activities like pumpkin picking and haunted houses for things they enjoy about the fall season. But like I said, I’m not your die hard fan of all those activities. There’s nothing wrong with them, but I just don’t find much joy in carving a pumpkin. Honestly, it drives me crazy how messy that whole process is, NGL. If you’re like me and don’t run to Starbucks for a pumpkin spice latte (they aren’t terrible but not my jam), I still think it’s important to try and find little things that bring you joy in this season. That’s why these are my fall staples. So what’s your favorite part about fall? I would love to hear in the comments!
