I’m all about that base.

You know the day you have somewhere to be and you have to look presentable, and you go to grab your foundation…and it’s all gone!? Well, that’s what happened to me! So I rushed over to Sephora and purchased a brand a new pressed powder foundation from bareMinerals called the BAREPRO Sephora.com. The foundation costs exactly $30, which is pretty affordable for something that can last me over a year. Since bareMinerals was the first foundation I ever used when I started using makeup, I had high hopes for this one. This was my first time trying a pressed powder because I’ve always been a loose powder foundation kind of girl. But I chose to step out of my comfort zone for this one!IMG_3250IMG_3306I got matched with the color Sandstone 16 and it’s a perfect match. I apply the foundation with my Real Techniques powder brush Ulta.com  because it’s my favorite brush and it gives me the full coverage I need when applying a powder foundation. You can buy the brush that bareMinerals sells for this foundation, but I didn’t really see the need for that. When I buy a new foundation I try to see what it has to offer in terms of: coverage, skin type, & finish.

Here are Sephora’s claims:                                                                                                                   Coverage:                                                                                                                                                 Full, Medium, Sheer: I completely agree with this coverage claim because I’ve noticed that the foundation is very build able.

Skin Type:                                                                                                                                                      Sensitive, Normal, Dry, Combination, Oily: I have Sensitive & Combination skin and I think it works well for oily skin. But if you have dry patches, it does cling to those. So make sure to moisturize well!                                                                                                                                               Finish:                                                                                                                                                             Matte: Sephora says this foundation has a 12-hour wear, but I don’t think it lasts that long. Nonetheless, you can get a solid 7-8 hours out of it. Because I have the oiliest skin ever, I would say that is enough for me because I try not to wear makeup for 12-hours anyway.IMG_3251.JPG

Now lets talk LASHES! Let’s be real, we’ve all been seeing eyelash extensions and how great they look, but I’ve also heard horror stories from my friends and how they got them and their actual lashes ended up falling out too. So for now, lash extensions are a no for me and I’ll stick to mascara and false lashes. I’m really payticular when it comes to my mascara, but I mean who isn’t. I prefer my mascara to be in blackest black, voluminous, and lengthening. I can safely say I’ve tried every Maybelline, benefit, urban decay, and L’oréal mascara out there. I think I’ve found a winner! It’s the new L’oréal  Voluminous Lash Paradise. Target.com     IMG_3315IMG_3262You can purchase this mascara at any drugstore, and I accidentally picked up the waterproof one…and I can never go back to non-waterproof again! This mascara ranges from: $7.49-$8.99 depending on what store you get it from. On Target’s website this mascara claims:

~Voluptuous volume & Length: I completely agree with this.                                              ~Full lash fringe, feathery soft : Again, I agree because it gives me the winged out lash look that I love.                                                                                                                                                             ~Soft, wavy bristle brush: Yes it is, and it’s easier to work into to your roots than it looks. Also, the one thing I like about this mascara is that is doesn’t smudge or give any fallout if you wear it on a hot day.IMG_3310IMG_3255 Would I repurchase both of these makeup items again? I can answer that with a big fat YES! I think these are two underrated products out in the makeup market that I’m happy I got my hands on and am currently loving.

Thanks for stopping by:)
